WiFi Salon operates the ParkWifi networks, a free public wifi network covering parks in NYC. They ahve now upgraded their network covering Washington Square Park. Instead of "just" offering WiFi Internet connectivity their network now supports VOIP, multimedia and gaming. Access is also built around a portal offering " localized content on the park and neighborhood".
This is very simmilar to the network that we are currently rolling out with AirAppz and it clearly illustrates the way forward for WiFi hotspots & hotzones.
